CHENNAI: The AIADMK (Puratchi Thalaivi Amma) led by former Tamil Nadu chief minister O Panneerselvam on Thursday decided to support the NDA nominee for Presidential polls, Ram Nath Kovind.
“We have decided to extend support to Ram Nath Kovind after BJP president Amit Shah sought our support,” Panneerselvam told reporters after a consultative meeting at his residence with his supporters.
Panneerselvam made the announcement a day after Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami announced that the AIADMK (Amma) would support the NDA presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, the supporters of the AIADMK (Amma) deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran met at his residence on Thursday morning to decide on the next course of faction. Thiruvadanai MLA actor Karunas also went to TTV’s Adyar residence. Later, Karunas dubbed it a courtesy visit.
